Institute of banking Banking personnel Selection (IBPS)has released a notice regarding postponement of its various recruitment examinations. Due to the outbreak of Coronavirus pandemic, IBPS has postponed the results declaration of the allotment towards various posts like Probationary Officers, Management Trainees, Clerks and Specialist Officers until further orders.

All Central Government Jobs to Include 'Transgender' in Gender Category

The Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions asked all central government departments to include “transgender” as a separate category of gender for recruitment in civil services and other posts.


The move is based on the provisions of the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act 2019, that got the Presidential assent as an act on December 5, 2019.

All ministries/departments of government of India are requested to modify the relevant examination rules providing for inclusion of ‘Transgender’ as a separate category of gender, so as to make the said Rules in conformity with the provisions of The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Bill, 2019,” the Union Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions said.

Assam Science and Technology University (ASTU) has released official notification for Combined Entrance Examination (CEE-2020) for Admission into B.Tech. programme For the Session 2020-21 in the Engineering Colleges of Assam.

Eligibility Criteria:
 To be eligible for admission to any of the colleges a candidate must fulfill the following criteria :-

(a) The Candidate must be an Indian Citizen and a Permanent resident of Assam.

(b) For admission the candidate must pass the Qualifying Examination individually in the same sitting without any grace marks in the subject of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English with a minimum of 50 % (45 % in case of SC and 40% in case of ST) marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The same sitting means a candidate must appear all the four subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English together.

(c) The Candidate must appear in the Entrance Examination for admission (CEE – 2020).

(d) The Candidate must not be above 21 years or below 17 years of age as on 1st August 2020. Upper age limit mentioned in (d) above is relaxed to 22 years in case of B.Sc. passed Candidates. Upper age limit mentioned in (d) above is relaxed by 3 years for Scheduled Cast and Scheduled Tribe candidates.

Syllabus:
 The CEE-2020 will be conducted as per the latest syllabus of Assam Higher Secondary Education Council.

Paper shall be of three (3) hours duration and shall contain 120 multiple choice questions each carrying one mark. Four (4) marks will be awarded for every right answer and one (1) mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. There shall be no marks, in case, the candidate selects more than one option in the answer sheet. CEE-2020 will be based on Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) Syllabus .

The examination will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) Type and comprise of a Single Paper of 3 (three) hours duration with following distribution:

a) Mathematics : 40 Questions
b) Physics : 40 Questions
c) Chemistry : 40 Questions


Medium of Entrance Test: 
The question paper contains questions both in “English” and “Assamese” language.

Admit Card: 
The Candidate will be able to download his/her admit card from the University website www.astu.ac.in from 17th April , 2020 onwards by entering his/her application form number/User name and Password generated during submission of online application.

Application Fee: An Application Fee of Rs. 750/- (Seven hundred and fifty only) is to be paid online, which facilitate payment through Debit Card/ Credit Card/ Net Banking. Assam Science and Technology University shall not accept hard copy of the Application and any other documents. Fee once paid, is not refundable.

Coronavirus relief package: PF contribution of 3 months, non-recoverable advance up to 75%

The government today announced a relief package to deal with the economic impact of Covid-19 in India

The central government on Thursday announced a slew of measures directed at helping out low income group people during nationwide lockdown under the impact of novel coronavirus infection.
It has decided to pay the provident fund contributions for three months of any company where 90 per cent of staff get less than Rs 15,000 as salary a month
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said, “The government will pay both employee’s and employer’s contributions to the provident fund for three months for establishment with 90 per cent of staff with Rs 15,000 wage.”
The government also allowed advance against the PF contribution made by the workers to the tune of 75 per cent of PF deposits or equivalent to three months’ salary, whichever is lower. The government order says the PF regulations will be amended in the view of Covid-19 outbreak.
The announcements were made at a press conference by Sitharaman and her deputy Anurag Thakur. The measures were announced in the middle of a 21-day nationwide lockdown to contain spread of novel coronavirus pandemic in India.
The pandemic has led to shutdown and massive losses to businesses. The smaller business entities have suffered the worst and the lower income groups were particularly affected.
The announcement came as part of PM Garib Kalyan Package unveiling economic measures worth Rs 1.75 lakh crore to help the poor to fight the battle against Corona Virus.
The government release underscored that wage-earners below Rs 15000 per month in businesses having less than 100 workers are at risk of losing their employment. Under this package, the government proposed to pay 24 per cent of their monthly wages into their PF accounts for next three months. A total of Rs 5000 crores has been allocated for this purpose
